Whew- what a great week!!! It was so busy, and my body is so tired, but I just got to do so much stuff, and meet all kinds of new people. On Thursday, I had to opportunity to teach a soldering class at Zinnia that was privately booked. How cool is that? We made soldered charm necklaces, and had a great time. All 9 ladies ( Hi high maintenance, Hi bossy, Hi rule breaker!!) They know I am kidding- really- anyway all 9 work together and once a year they take a day off, go to lunch and then do something like the soldering class. What is really cool is that not all of them are artist or crafters so it is a big step outside of their usual comfort zone, and they all are such troopers- they just totally dive in!! I love it. Plus they are sassy and funny. I love that too. Sadly, though I remembered all the supplies, I forgot my camera. I know, bad move on my part. Friday was about eye doctor, hair cut,(yes Joe cut my hair- he is wonderful!!!) and dinner out ( pasta pescatore with pink sauce!!!) Saturday found me back at Zinnia, now my home away from home to do the charm necklace class again with another totally game group of fun women.
This  time I forgot some supplies, but remembered my camera~my poor brain. I even managed to get to the nursery and get some plants in the ground this weekend. YEAH!! I figure if I plant enough stuff the weeds can't get through any more. I don't know.... its a plan. Today though has mostly been about getting ready for Artfest. I am a bad packer ( I think I have already proven that point), so I always worry about it. I have been gathering supplies, and trying to figure out how to get my favorite blanket in that suitcase as well. Hummmmm.....

Yesterday~ whew yesterday, I drove to Ojai to visit Artful Living to teach a soldering class. We made charms, and then put together a necklace for our finished project. There were a total of 9 in class and we barely had enough room. Truth be told I would have loved to have another table for everyone to spread out some more, and I would have loved a few more soldering irons. BUT- everyone was so willing to just work it all out, and share and wait, and help- and we got it all done! Sometimes you have a class and it all just fits- great people having a good time, and I think that is how yesterday went. So, I send a thank you out to the universe for bringing such fun and like minded, creative people together on such a beautiful Ojai day. They all really seemed to catch on well, and some just dove in fearless and told that soldering iron who was boss! YEAH!!
Now, the sad part is that I managed to get one, yes only one decent picture. How did I do that?

Well, I will be teaching  this class again on Thursday, and then on Sunday at Zinnia ( still space open on Sunday) and then my focus will be getting supplies ready for Artfest. I am behind on my gathering, and may have to do a lot of 'making due'.

well, it is breezy and sunny hear after a night of rain, and I am off to be in my muddy garden and listen to the quiet of the soil, and the birds tell their stories and find my center again.

Trying to score~

As you may know, I kinda care for a bunch of cats. O.k. 5 in total. This is Finn. He is one of my work cats. I hope I don't have to get a new job because at the interview I would have to say " O.k. the benefits are just fine but,  uh, where do I keep my cats?" and then I think it would go downhill from there. I wouldn't even get to ask them when I get to lay of the floor before they asked me leave. Geez- s0me people are so uptight.
Anyway, Finn got into a scrape last week and wound up with a BIG boo-boo on his hind haunches. He is so good he lets me Dr. him and never fusses. But this was gonna need antibiotics. Now, trying to coordinate a vet visit for a cat who doesn't wear a watch is really hard, so I figured I'll just track down some amoxi tabs, or amoxi drops and we'll be just fine. I know the dosage etc. How hard could that be?? Well, lets just say that on ThursdayI learned that it would be easier for me to get almost any form of human recreational drugs before I could get an animal anitbiotic without a prescription. Dang do they think I'm gonna smoke the stuff??
Luckly I had some left over drops from Neko- who is the worst cat patient EVER, and Finn is almost all better now.

p.s. I did try to get him to the vet, but it turns out he has a keen understanding of their hours.

The keeper of important things lost has flown the coop

Yes that's right, she is gone- off to live in LONDON!!! I am so blown away that the piece I had at
 Ten Women gallery in Venice has already sold, and from what I was told she will be living overseas now.
It seems fitting since she has always been a bit of a travel bug. She was originally made in Washington State from elements from Wa., Maine, California, and Canada. Can I call myself an international artist
now?? No? Too much? O.k.
