Fake TTV

Today was in part about working on my Chunky Book page for this Sunday. Now it is true I have probably had close to 7 weeks to finish it, but that just isn't how this all works. First, you have to have a really great idea. Then you have to think on it and tweak it. Then try out that idea, and realize it stinks,then just days before your page is due- you just slam right into it. My job for this page was to incorporate, lace, glided, dark, cookies, spiders- and still have a little nod to Valentines Day. I finally decided on a photo for this project which I will embellish with gilding and lace to finish up- but here is my final picture. I am so happy that I was able to make the whole fake ttv thing work! I did it all on my computer!!! YAY!!

Now really, how cute is baby lettuce? This is rough lettuce from last years crop gone to seed. It is all over the yard now, and I love it! I think I might just scatter lettuce seeds all over and let it be my winter lawn - that is instead of the weeds!!

I got busted~

Dear Mr. Postman,
I am very sorry that you caught me dancing around the yard in my gardening outfit. Please don't be scared , and please do come back. I will try to behave, or at least dance better, or dress better next time. Would you please tell my neighbors that I apologize for the signing too? Thank you.

Saturday at 12

This is what Saturday at 12 was about for me this week. I had been dreaming of getting into the yard, to weed and plant a little. My wish came true, but you can barely tell I was out their except for the one small patch of turned  earth. It was still wonderful.

Saturday at 12

I know its Sunday~ silly. I joined a group and though I don't know if I can keep up ( I tend to forget things..) the plan is to pick a favorite day and a time and take a picture every week. My day and time is Saturday at 12. This was my Sat. at 12.....btw that is catnip on her head and on the floor- a nice way to spend the morning.

Here is a little Valentine I made~ paper, resin, thread, brads. Anyway, I want to share it with you. Will you be my Valentine??

I also wanted to let you know that even though I don't write often, I do talk to you all a lot. I talk to my Mom ( she has been gone 10 years now), I talk to my friend Joanne- she lives in Portland, and I talk to you. This morning you and I had a chat about how the recipe calls for 1& 1/3 cup water, not OIL. You laughed- and I shrugged as I threw out my oil cakes... oh what fun we have. Tonight I will be going to Zinnia to join in the fun of the new show opening. I have a piece in this show, and hope that it stands up well with the other pieces and doesn't betray me as a fraud. Shhhhh- yes- sometimes I feel like that. Now that is our little secret.

charm class

 I am teaching a charm class at Zinnia on Monday 11-2 - no not that kind of charm. Everyone knows I don't have any!! The jewelery kind of charm silly. We will be making soldered pendants and adding a little something special. Like this..

Now this one is kinda simple- it can be as elaborate as you like-
I think it will be a fun class. I was just looking at the schedule and I see that Joe is teaching polymer beads on Sunday- that should be a great class. He makes the most amazing beads!!
Also- on Saturday Zinnia is having its 'heart broken' show. I have one piece in, and I have seen some of the others. I can't wait to see the whole show up. Stop by with your sweetie, or leave your sweetie and home and come on by  anyway for some eye candy- 7-9 pm.

look- you can actually see the desk. I know it is still a long way off, and please note I am not showing you the other side of the room, but I have made some progress. Some. I am need of some shelves- lots of them. So, the project continues. I imagine the day it is perfect the whole game is over.

I have been taking breaks to make some things along the way. This little birdie house for one! Not much will get done in the studio this weekend- A dear friend is visiting from Portland ( poor girl has come here for the sun), Zinnia will be having its opening night on Sat. 14th, and on the 16th I am teaching at Zinnia- soldered charms! Whew!
