Hooray!!!

I am a dork- but you already knew that. I forgot to tell ya'll that today is my most favorite holiday sale of them all. Today is the Center for the Arts Eagle Rock holiday fund-raiser. I love this show!!! There are about 14 vendors, so it isn't too big to just pop in for an hour and shop.( Park at the B of A). I know most of the vendors so it is fun to hang with them for the day. Every hours they have a raffle prize drawing! I don't have an image for you, but ck. out the link and if you are local- please come on by. In other news- I just want you to be glad I don't share my dreams here with you ( usually) because last night in Thailand still has me scratching my head. Here is the not weird part, I boiled chicken wings in B.B.Q.sauce and never left the hotel room. O.k. kids- wish me luck today!!!

Studio +3

Last week ( geez was it only last week!) I was invinted to a an early morning sale at Studio +3 in Sierra Madre. A very cool place were 3 artist ( Gloria, Elena, Moira) share work space, but also have retail space. I could actually live in this space- very smart. Anyway- they invited all the Moms from their kids school for an early morning visit - now I say early morning because I am not used to doing events at 8 AM. I know that many of you are well on your way by 8 AM , but this girl is just getting into the shower at that time of the morning. How do you Moms do it?!? Pastries and coffee ( thank god for coffee....) and lots of new faces- a very good start to a busy weekend of making art! Thanks for having me up ladies!!! I LOVED this idea for using old drawers! I can't believe that I just got rid of the drawers I stored for 3 years!! How me. I just love all these colors together- I want to dive in and take a nap These are the new plates that I did- I love how they came out!

South Pasadena art walk

Oh my gosh the Art Walk was a huge success! Zinnia was crazy busy, and we had a great mix of vendors outside and it all went so well. Met lots of super nice new folks. I finally packed up around 7pm, and what I didn't sell, I moved right on into the store! The next morning, started working on pieces for the next show, which could possibly be this Friday, in Sierra Madre, but for sure at Center for the Arts in Eagle Rock on the 30th. If you are around the Sunday after Thanksgiving, that is a fun show. Here are the new pieces I did for the Zinnia show. A few pieces sold before I even got pictures- I am bad about that... Plates are really hard to photograph... I promise to work on it!

Do you ever find yourself just looking around at blogs la, la,la, and all of a sudden your stomach gets kinda butterfly-ie and your knees get all tingly and the voice in your head goes "Ai!"- because you realize you are about to see something amazing, and you can read fast enough- or scroll down fast enough to see all the wonders? Here is one of those places....

South Pasadena art walk

This weekend is my first holiday show- I haven't done an event in some time, and I am really excited to get back out there. I will be vending at Zinnia in South Pasadena as part of a Mission St. art walk, so lots of stores will be involved. Zinnia will be hosting 11 artist just at their space. Another thing that is making me kinda excited to get out there is that I will be vending things that I either have not done in at least 6 years, or things that I have never offered before, and I don't think I will have any mini quilts at this event. I have been doing some really neat image transfers onto old dish-wear , and just having so much fun making them! I will also be selling my soldered glass birdhouses, kitties made from old wool sweaters, and just 3 dolls like Pascale that I showed you earlier. I have also brought the magnets back. I have already had those for sale in Zinnia and they have been going well. I think I will still do some fabric stuff before my next event, but I thought I would just go with a different look this time. I do find myself thinking in fabric though- wondering if this or that would work. Last week my image of choice was a rhino, and this week I am kinda hung up on a giraffe, so we will see what all comes out of my studio this holiday.
