Did I ever tell you about the time I got married?

Well, you see, it goes like this.... H and I really like Halloween. We deciede after living in sin ( not really Dad, H. slept on the couch ) for a decade it was time to make it all legal like.  We decided it would be a Halloween wedding- as close as we could get was October 30- but we still had everyone come in costume. It was great fun-  My Dad even got into it and surprised H and I with his costume. He did good.
Yup, that guy in the Jack head walked me down the isle. I have never laughed so much at a wedding - best one I have ever been to ! Happy 3 years H.!!

PaulandjoeOur hosts for a FAB. Halloween Party, Paul  and Joe. I especially like that Paul looks so mean in this picture- sorry Joe, but he is way more scary than you!  We all came in costume and brought carved pumpkins .

Suki came as that nutty chick that "found " a finger in her Wendy's chili.
Javier as a vampire with the teeth and freaky contacts in, and Tam as a witch.
That would be my Brother and his giant ass... as a centaur...He was very funny and a
great sport as we kept asking him to dance for us and moonwalk! Denise and Kari , Dolly Parton and Diego and Frieda. Thanks you guys for a super fun evening with great friends and food ( any dessert left??)

If circumstances were different, I would have had a GREAT picture to show you today. While driving to work, small pick up truck in front of me stopped. It had a shell on it, and a dog in the back. It was a standard poodle. I grew up with Dobermans, great dogs , but I have a strange love of standard poodles. I dunno... anyway, while checking this one out, I realized that the shell did not have tinted windows, the dog was actually blue. Now, this is why I need to carry a camera, and have lightening fast reflexes
( I think more coffee is the answer here.)  Anyway, no picture, just an odd story. The day the blue poodle got away.

hey check out those balls!

ouch. My head hurts. I think it is all the junk from the winds and the fires. I am gonna have a nose-ectomy. Oh- and take my sinus for a fluff and fold. Oh but enough complaining. ( for now anyway-hehe). I have been a busy girl! I taught 2 classes at Zinnia on Friday ( YEAH!) and then vended all day on Sunday at BAM. ( warning- more complaining coming soon) Now, don't try and Google BAM cause you just won't get any info. For some reason there really wasn't any advertising, nor was the link for the site up- even on the day of the dang event! I didn't blog about it, because I didn't have a lot of info and I just didn't want to lead y'all wrong. It was held at Barnsdall with about 40 vendors and 10 shoppers. Actually I did pretty well considering, and I met some super neat people. I met this couple from Utah who were here to see Wicked. Happy Birthday Zoe! Hope you had fun!!! They fly home today.
They were really nice.  I also met a nutty guy in a full leather native American style jacket with fringe and huge bell bottom pants made from cord patchwork and he carried his little dog- did I mention he was nutty. He told my neighbor vendor Joanna that he would pray for her marriage! I guess he felt mine had no hope at all!!
I also met Mavis Leahy who it turns out works at ten women gallery in Venice  and shares space with my friend Shari Enge of Old Soul Dolls- small world!!!
All in all it turned out well- lots of laughs and even some sales!!
o.k. so on to some pictures.!!!

Can you believe that 3 of us made this mess?!

when cats help you sew

I have been working on lots of sewing projects, and my sweetie Jackson decided to help me by holding all my fabric bits in place for me. Isn't she great? The first picture is the circling to find the right position. The second picture she is down for the count.  And, that is her actual color. She sometimes even looks a little bit green.

JacksonnestingJacksonsnoozing

Sorry to be missing lately. I just found out that I was accepted into BAM ( Barnsdall artist market) and the event is on Oct. 21st.     I  also found out this weekend that I got into two other artist sales that occur before Dec. 1.  I have been busy  sewing all weekend and trying to get everything in order. I will be back soon and hopefully have some pictures.
But, I will tell you a quick story. I bought an old Duaflex camera on e-bay to do a special photographic technique with.It is the kind of camera that you look through the top of .  In order to do this tech. you need to block out all light that would normally get to the viewfinder. I decided to take a short cut ( how very me) and try to just drape a big towel over my head instead of building the contraption that I will eventually build. O.K., so me, in p.j's with beach towel draped over my head, duaflex in one hand, digital camera in the other and I am actually flailing around like an dog with tape on its paw trying to get the image and the no light thing and towel all corrcet.  H. finally has to ask what the hell I am doing - as I am about to hurt myself and possible take another life in the process. ( he was safe accross the room- it would have been the cat) and  break up to two cameras as well. I am just not doing well, and then I realize with all the trouble I am having I can't find my image because I have the duaflex lense pointed at my own shirt! When I finally realized I was just too  "challenged" to do this ( I haddn't had my coffee  yet either) and took the towel off my head, H. and the cat are both staring at me with PITY in their eyes at my lameness. Have you EVER had a cat look at you with PITY!!!! That is just wrong. On many levels.

things that make me smile

I pass this every day. Every day. It makes me laugh.

Dogtoilet

The old sign was better. It had a picture of a dog painted on it, squatting, with shaky dog lets, and a red circle and line through it.  I loved it. But I guess the dogs didn't get it so the owners of this "not toilet" spot decided to go the direct route. I dunno- it kinda looks like a great dog toilet to me. I am pretty sure they saw me snapping this picture early this morning. If I get a rep for being the neighborhood wierdo, I just want you to know I did it all for you!

This is something else that makes me smile everyday.

Monk

This is Monk- he looks worried because of the camera-
Finncloseup

This is Finn. He looks worried, well, because he is the worrier of the two.
These guys are my work kitties. What you don't have work kitties?! What kind of hell holes do you all work in that don't allow you to have work kitties??? Their Mama brought them around when they were teeny weeny and they were feral. Now they are bad mannered tamed outdoor house cats. We have had them fixed, and shot and they are fed and loved every single day( yes I go, or my Dad to feed and visit them on the weekends). I love these guys- and I can't imagine a workday without
them. Pets lower your blood pressure you know. I should be dead -my blood pressure should be so low.
