Driving home tonight I saw a big orange billboard that said " I pooted". I have no idea what that is about, but it was the best laugh I've had all weekend. Now I can't stop saying "I pooted" in my head.
I have been gone for a bit... so busy doing too many things at once. We have been working like crazy on the yard. I decided to put together an artist sale held here, to motivate us to get some stuff done. I arranged for a tree service to drop off some wood chips ( its free ya know ) and now Harry and I spend most free time moving chips from the street up into the yard. So far 133 barrels have been moved. Needless to say H. and I are getting "brown as a berry" as my Mom used to say. H. likes being brown as a berry, I on the other hand keep covering myself in sunblock to no avail. I am also a bit disgruntled that I am not Mary-Kate and Ashley thin from this project! The up side is that we are finally making some serious headway in the yard and possibly won't have to deal with weeds - at least in this section next year. Ah, but this project is keeping me from any crafting... I haven't done a thing since teaching the ATC class at Zinnia. This weekend I have my most favorite nephew staying ( o.k. - only nephew) and we are going to be making some stuff, so that will be lots of fun. I will post some final yard pictures as well as pics from our art sale on July 15.
this is our mulch pile on the street.![]()
an this is the landing spot!
Calling all artist.... have you heard? have you seen it? CartALOG is something dear to me, as I am a paper freak. I also have always loved card catalogs in Libraries. I remember my heart skipping a beat the first time that I saw they were gone from our library. The place has never been the same. I got my package of old cards from the catalog today... cool isn't it?!?! I highly suggest you go to the site, read about and then send off your box to be filled. It smells like library.

I am such a dork!! I forgot to tell ya'll that I will be in a show this

I am taking advantage of the fact that my computer is cooperating and posting while I can... here is a not great scan of the chunky book page done by Candace of Gallery Ophelia. My scan does not do her page justice, please visit her site to see her work. I am a huge fan. Candace, please forgive my scan!!!
Harry and I knew there were skunks here when we moved in. What we didn't realize was that they would like to come in the house, and that they LOVE cat food. The new crop of baby skunks are here, and they are adorable
This is just out our back door. 4 little guys chowing on the last of our ferral cat's food.
Then they started to sniff around and head straight for the back door. In this pic. please note the hunk of wood we had to nail over the cat door to close it off. Skunks were coming in, other cats, but I lost it when I found a racoon in the kitchen. We live in Pasadena, not rural at all!
This is just one family that visits. There is one more family that we know of. Last summer we put in a patch of sod, a huge luxury....
This is what the skunks did the first night. I screamed when I saw it.
I would put it all back in place, and they would tear it up every night. I gave up. We have a very crappy lawn, but happy skunks.
